Glasson’s Head Office in Newmarket has a visual brand connection with their fashion retail stores and a neutral palette so that seasonal samples were the hero colour statements in the main open-plan space.
We worked closely with the client to achieve the look and functionality they wanted whilst injecting a design finesse and points of interest in the space. We achieved this by introducing materials and palette; wood panelling, terrazzo style flooring, lightbox signage, black ceilings and track lighting.
Custom-built phone booths and booth seating are softened with acoustic lining for private conversation, and colour saturation offers a contrasting feel to the black and white theme of the open-plan workspace.
The board room needed to be flexible and features flexible glass sliding doors to open one large space into two smaller meeting rooms with flip-top tables that can be reconfigured or removed. Smaller internal meeting rooms for 4-6 people are separate but visually connected using glazed partitioning.
A neutral palette in the main work/design space allows clothing to be hero, in a trans-seasonal space. The blank canvas accommodates maximum hanging display for clothing, areas for cutting &measuring, and plenty of low storage for swatches to declutter a potentially busy space. Heavy drapery added a touch of boudoir around the change room for sample fit models. Carpet under desks delineates between circulation and concentration zones and softens acoustics. Concrete floors facilitate easy movement of clothing racks and easy cleaning.
The kitchen has an open feel but allows for more fun with touches of colour whilst having functionality at its heart. Vertical wood battens connect with the brand story in materials used throughout the retail stores. Colour and texture with varied tile finishes are fun features of the bathrooms.
