St Kentigern’s new addition to their Auckland campus features a purpose-built building for St Kentigern Girls. Designed alongside a new facility for the boys’ school, the interiors were carefully planned to balance synergy with the adjoining school in addition to creating a unique environment for girls.
Biophilia (connecting people with nature) was central to the design. Natural elements were incorporated to reduce stress, enhance performance, and foster a ready-to-learn mindset. Soft furnishings, feature lighting, and acoustic finishes all supported this approach.

The design also reflects the school’s Scottish heritage, integrating house colours into the finishes. For younger students, yellow encourages creativity, while teal and purple for older students promote sophistication and tranquillity. Flexible furniture and well-planned spaces support optimal learning, creating a balanced, engaging environment.
